This Sunday’s walk is a route through the Wolds to the north east of Pocklington incorporating parts of the Wolds Way, Chalkland Way and Minster Way. The basic route is 9 miles, with just under 1000 feet of ascent – there are a couple of steepish ascents. The starting point is the car park at Millington Wood (SE 837531 – Landranger 106 or Explorer 294), approximately a mile north east of Millington village. There are no refreshments en-route unless we detour to the café in Huggate, which will add a total of 1.75 miles to the route. There is a café in Millington (http://www.ramblersrestmillington.co.uk/) or pub (http://www.gait-inn-millington.co.uk/), and if this is added to the walk, rather than driving there on the way home, it will add another 2.75 miles. In addition an extra 1.5 miles and 250 feet of ascent can be added to include a climb through Millington Wood to the viewpoint. There will be some muddy sections. 09:45 for a 10:00 start.
(re-scheduled from 9 February – a casualty of Storm Ciara!)
